So, I have been asked this a couple times. I will spare you all my witty sarcastic responses and instead offer the series; “What Vegans Eat”.

Today from Trader Joe’s a bunch of delicious treats to appease our sweet tooth.

Berries are one of the foods that I will only eat organic due to the ridiculous amount of poisons sprayed on the non organic crops. Spring/summer is the best time for berries so I load up while I can. The health benefits of berries are amazing and each color adds something to the party.

I love dark chocolate and I am not afraid to say it for the world to hear. And surprise surprise… it is not the worst thing for you! I mean, cacao is plant based! I treat myself to one of these every other day or so as a mid day pick me up snack or when I really want dessert. Dairy free, this is my favorite treat. I use this as a mid day energy boost or an early evening snack.

Cacao is full of Antioxidants that protect the body from ageing and disease caused by free radicals. The cacao bean is also rich in magnesium, an energy mineral and vital electrolyte. Pomegranate Seeds – 5.3 0z: $4.49

The health benefits of pomegranate are incredible. Pomegranates are very high in antioxidant, antiviral and anti-tumor properties and in vitamins including vitamin A, C and E, as well as folic acid.

A handful of pomegranate seeds in my cereal or salad adds a great flavor but I usually wind up just eating them straight from the box.

This stuff is the bomb. It’s a combination of different sprouted wheat and seeds that I add to my smoothies or any place else I can get it in. This is a great source of good fuel and nutrients for your body including: fiber, protein, calcium, iron, B6, niacin and zinc.  Where else can you get Flax, hemp, chia, quinoa and more in one bag!? If you aren’t going to take the time to make this combination yourself, this is essential!
